Ridin' the Roo!

It’s the weekend in Midtown. Parking is at a premium. The once-empty garage now regularly fills up before 7:00 pm. What to do? Ride the Roo!

The Roo is a shuttle that runs a loop from Overton Square to Cooper Young on Fridays and Saturdays from 7:00 pm to 2:00 am. (Yes, the bus with the giant kangaroo sipping a martini on top!) It’s $2 per ride or $5 for an all-night pass. You can park anywhere along the route and hop on. (The First Congo parking lot on Cooper near Walker is usually a good bet.) Be prepared to get into a festive mood. The Roo has party lights and music and the driver doesn’t care if you dance. It’s also totally cool to bring a roadie.
